Apostille Services
When you have United States documents that need to obtain authentication issued for the use in one of the 195 countries that participate in the Hague Convention of 1961, then you may need an Arizona Apostille Service regardless of where you live. If you live outside Arizona and the documents were notarized by Arizona commissioned notary, the documents must be authenticated by the Arizona Secretary of State.
For countries that do not participate in the Hague Convention, the process will have two more steps, specifically with the US Department of State and with the specific country Embassy or Consulate. As of April 2022, US Dept of State Offices are still closed but accepts documents via USPS which will take up to 30 business days to process then when documents sent to an embassy or consulate for authentication, we don’t have no idea how long the process will take.
UPDATE: Secretary of State now accepts in-person Apostille and Authentications by Appointment only. Each Appointment is limited to 6 documents.
